- Parish: Widecombe in the Moor
- Height: 432 m
- Grid reference: SX 7282 7807
- Rock: Granite
- Also called: Sharpy Tor, Charbe Tor
Sharp Tor stands on the south-west shoulder of Chinkwell Tor, above Widecombe in the Moor: a granite rock stack that rises sharply out of the hillside. On Geograph the same rock pile appears under the name Chinkwell Tor, so it is easily mixed up with its bigger neighbour on the ridge.
It is best seen from below, from Thornhill Lane, the track along the lower western side of Bonehill Down between Bonehill Rocks and Honeybag Tor.
William Crossing identified it, and it also goes by the names Sharpy Tor and Charbe Tor. Charbe Tor is disputed: some place it at Bonehill Rocks or Holwell Rocks, but Crossing's Guide to Dartmoor puts a Sharp Tor near Widecombe that some maps call Charbe Tor, and Tors of Dartmoor concludes that the two are the same tor. Crossing wrote about it in Amid Devonia's Alps, and Tim Jenkinson describes it in East Dartmoor: The Hidden Landscape (Rocks and Tors).
Dartmoor has several tors with this name. Not to be confused with the Sharp Tors at Lydford, Tavy Cleave, Harford Moor, Yartor Down, Peter Tavy and Castle Drogo, nor with the two Sharpitors, Sharpitor near Burrator and Sharpitor at Lustleigh.
