Guide to Dartmoor

Crossing's own preface describes this as "the first to give a complete topographical description of Dartmoor," aiming to lead the visitor beyond the well-known beauty spots into the moor's remoter reaches. First published in a single 528-page volume by the Western Morning News Co. in May 1909, illustrated by Philip Guy Stevens, it remains the standard reference topographical work on Dartmoor well over a century later.

Note on this scan: the free copy linked below is a later sectional reissue by A. Wheaton & Co. (who "purchased the remaining stock" and repackaged it by district), covering the Southern and Western section only - not the original single-volume 1909 edition.
