Sharp Tor

Devon

Sharp Tor stands at around 250 metres on the open Dartmoor plateau, a small but well-defined granite outcrop in a landscape of rolling heath and bog. The tor's weathered stones catch the light and mark a natural vantage point across the high moor, with views extending toward the surrounding peaks and the moorland's characteristic patterns of grass and water.

The approach is straightforward across open moorland, typical of central Dartmoor walking. There are no crowds here, no shops or facilities, only the moor itself and the quiet satisfaction of reaching a named high point. It is a place that rewards those who walk for the moor's own sake, not for fanfare.
