Sharp Tor

Sharp Tor stands on the open moorland of central Dartmoor, a compact granite outcrop that commands the landscape despite its relatively modest height of 386 metres. The tor's rocky crown is typical of Dartmoor's granite features, weathered and fractured by centuries of exposure to wind and weather. From the summit, views stretch across the surrounding moorland, with the distinctive shapes of neighbouring tors visible on clear days.

The approach to Sharp Tor is a straightforward moorland walk, crossing rough grass and heather typical of this part of the moor. There are no dramatic scrambles or technical climbing required; the appeal lies in the solitude and the uninterrupted moorland setting.
