Eylesbarrow

Grid ref: SX 5996 6860

Eylesbarrow is more famously known as a tin mine that operated until the 1850s than as a hill. The summit has two large Bronze Age cairns and views to Plymouth Sound, Sheeps Tor, Princetown, and its mast. Remains of the mine include adits, shafts, wheelpits, and the tin smelting house. It can be reached by following a track north easterly from the scout hut near Gutter Tor.
