Eylesbarrow is a modest granite tor standing at 435 metres on the central plateau of Dartmoor. The peak commands views across the high moor and fits easily into walks across this exposed and windswept landscape. Granite outcrops and moorland grass characterise the summit and its approaches.
The tor sits in country well suited to walking, with reasonable access from nearby tracks and paths. Like many Dartmoor high points, it rewards the effort of reaching it with the sense of being on the roof of the moor, though it makes no dramatic statement. This is honest moorland terrain where the landscape matters more than any single feature.
