This scheduled monument comprises three prehistoric settlements clustered on the high moor near Outer Huccaby Ring, alongside the remains of Brimpts Mine and a network of ancient reaves or field boundaries. The settlements likely date to the Bronze Age, when Dartmoor's uplands supported pastoral communities who carved field divisions into the landscape that are still visible today.
The site reflects a period when the moor was more intensively settled and worked. Later, tin streaming at Brimpts Mine shows how the same ground was valued again for mineral extraction. Walking here, visitors encounter the subtle earthworks of prehistoric life alongside industrial heritage, all set within Dartmoor's characteristic open moorland.
