Bell Tor
Devon
Bell Tor is an unassuming granite outcrop set among the rolling, open moorland of central Dartmoor. The rocks have the weathered, rounded character typical of the moor's tors, with granite blocks scattered across the low summit. From this vantage point the views stretch across the high moorland plateau, taking in the distinctive silhouettes of neighbouring peaks.
The tor sits in accessible country that rewards quiet walking across the turf and heather. Its modest height makes it less dramatic than Dartmoor's more famous summits, yet it holds the stillness of the moor itself. The surrounding terrain is typical high moorland, open and windswept, with distant views towards the eastern ridges of the National Park.
