Maiden Hill is a fairly flat, featureless hill covered in cotton grass and boggy depressions. It sits within the Merrivale firing range, so visitors should be aware of military activity. The Lych Way runs just to the south, offering access, though the terrain is tough and often wet, especially in midwinter. The view to the south includes Conies Down Tor and the Cowsic Valley.
