Lynch Tor

Lynch Tor rises to 517 metres on Dartmoor's western edge above the Lych Way and Baggator Brook. The tor consists of three main granite outcrops, with the central one most distinctive, featuring an irregular saddle and a west-facing cliff. Extensive clitter fields slope down the west flank, studded with enormous granite slabs. The northernmost outcrop, Limsboro' Cairn, is sometimes treated separately. From the Lych Way approach via Peter Tavy, the tor rewards effort with views towards Cornwall and north to Great Links Tor and High Willhays, though the surrounding firing ranges demand attention to warning signs.
