Furze the Cruel
1907
The opening novel of Trevena's trilogy of Dartmoor novels, followed by Heather (1908) and Granite (1909). Set among the moor's farming communities, it introduces the harder, crueller side of moorland life that gives the book its title. Published in London by Alston Rivers in 1907.
