Standon Hill rises from the western foothills of Dartmoor, with a flat grassy summit and two military range huts amid a modest ruined tor. The hill is strewn with clitter, making approach from the south-west challenging. Views from the top include the steep north face of Bagga Tor and the prominent bosses of Hare Tor and Great Links Tor. The name comes from the stony nature of the hill, with a ring cairn and a row of aligned boulders adding to its character.
