Cut Hill

Cut Hill stands at 603 metres above sea level, making it one of Dartmoor's most significant high points. This granite peak rises from the open moorland of North Dartmoor, sharing its elevation with Hangingstone Hill, which lies some 4 kilometres to the northeast. The exposed summit offers the kind of wide, unobstructed views that characterise the higher Dartmoor plateaux.
The walk to Cut Hill takes you across characteristic moorland terrain, where granite tors punctuate the landscape. From the summit, on a clear day, you can appreciate the scale and shape of this part of the moor. The approach is typical of North Dartmoor walking: open ground, changing light, and the sense of standing high above the surrounding country.
