Cut Hill

Cut Hill stands at 603 metres, making it one of Devon's highest points alongside Hangingstone Hill to the northeast. It sits within the Okehampton firing range, well inland and far from any road, which means reaching it takes real effort and care with map and compass. The reward is a genuinely solitary spot with views that sweep the full circle of Dartmoor: High Willhays and Yes Tor to the north, Sittaford Tor to the east, Postbridge and the southern moor to the south, and Fur Tor to the west. A long walk from Postbridge via the East Dart Waterfall and Sandy Hole Pass brings you up the peat pass to the summit, where you feel like you have the whole moor spread beneath you.
