Yes Tor

Yes Tor stands at 619 metres above sea level, the second highest point on Dartmoor. Its name derives from Old English, meaning 'eagle's tor', reflecting its elevated place in the landscape. It is one of only two wholly English peaks south of the Peak District that rise above 610 metres, the other being nearby High Willhays.
The tor rises as a characteristic granite outcrop from the open moorland, offering expansive views across Dartmoor and beyond. The walk to Yes Tor is straightforward moorland walking, making it accessible to many visitors. It forms part of Dartmoor's high moorland plateau and rewards those who reach its summit with the sense of being on genuine high ground.
