Longstone Hill

Devon

Longstone Hill is a straightforward granite tor standing at 415 metres on the central plateau of Dartmoor. The peak itself is modest in stature but commands a good outlook across the surrounding moorland, with the distinctive shapes of neighbouring tors visible on clear days. The granite outcrops have the weathered character typical of Dartmoor's high points, shaped by centuries of exposure to wind and weather.

The walk to Longstone Hill takes you across open moorland, with paths and tracks connecting it to the wider network of routes on the moor. It sits well within Dartmoor's landscape, neither isolated nor crowded, making it a straightforward objective for a moorland walk. The approach offers a quiet sense of the moor's rolling terrain and granite geology.
