Dinger Tor

Dinger Tor is a modest granite outcrop rising to around 550 metres on the high central plateau of Dartmoor. Its name and character are distinctly of the moor: a working landscape where sheep graze and weather shapes the stone. The tor itself is a pile of weathered granite blocks, unspectacular but solid, typical of Dartmoor's scattered peaks.
The walk to Dinger Tor takes you across open moorland with long views in most directions. The approach is straightforward but exposed, and the moor weather changes quickly here. From the top there are views across the plateau towards other tors and across to the distant edges of the National Park. It is a quiet spot, without the crowds of more famous summits.
