Bellever Tor

Bellever Tor rises to 443 metres and forms a conspicuous landmark from the open moor north of Postbridge, particularly striking above the treeline. The tor is built of at least four separate rock piles around the summit, where an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar dedicated to the Creber family sits topped by a plaque. Two logan stones are recorded here: a small one on the main summit pile and a prominent slab lower down that rocks on its own auxiliary stone. Small conifers grow from rock crevices, seedlings escaped from Bellever Forest nearby. The walks are straightforward, with a clear path to the top and fine views in all directions, especially northwards towards Higher White Tor.
