Laughter Tor

Devon

Laughter Tor is a small granite peak set in the open moorland of central Dartmoor. At 420 metres above sea level, it commands wide views across the moor and surrounding country, with the characteristic exposed granite outcrops and heather-clad slopes typical of this part of the high moor.

The tor is reached across accessible moorland, making it a good walking destination for those exploring the central plateau. The open aspect means little shelter but clear sightlines across the surrounding landscape, and the granite itself shows the weathered character of Dartmoor's stone.
