White Ridge

White Ridge stands at 504 metres above sea level on the open moorland of central Dartmoor. It is a modest granite tor in a landscape of rolling heath and grass, without the dramatic rocky crowning of some of Dartmoor's higher peaks, but its position gives it a commanding outlook across the surrounding moor.
The walk to White Ridge is straightforward moorland walking across accessible terrain. From this height you gain views across the broad, undulating expanse of central Dartmoor, with the moor stretching away in all directions. It is a good vantage point for understanding the scale and character of the high moor, and a natural stopping point on longer moorland walks.
