Black Dunghill

Devon

Black Dunghill is a granite tor of moderate height on the central moorland plateau, standing at 492 metres. It commands the surrounding open country and offers clear views across Dartmoor's characteristic landscape of heather, gorse and exposed stone. The tor itself is modest in scale but well-defined, its weathered granite catching the light across the moor.

The walk to Black Dunghill is accessible from several directions across open moorland, making it a practical destination for walkers exploring the central plateau. Being well away from major roads or settlements, it rewards those seeking quieter corners of the moor and views across the working landscape beyond Dartmoor's boundaries.
