Belstone Tor

Devon

Belstone Tor rises to 479 metres on the northern fringe of Dartmoor, a neat granite peak that commands the moorland around it. The tor itself is compact and walkable, with good views across open moor to Cosdon Hill and beyond. The granite outcrops have the characteristic rough texture of Dartmoor stone, weathered and honest in their exposure.

The approach is gentle across open moorland from nearby Belstone village, making this an accessible walk for anyone with moorland legs. The tor sits well above the surrounding terrain and repays the climb with a sense of genuine height. On clear days the views stretch across the moor in all directions, offering perspective on Dartmoor's broad undulating character.
