Knattaborough Tor

Devon

Knattaborough Tor stands at 438 metres on the open moorland of central Dartmoor, a modest but characteristic granite summit surrounded by heather and gorse. The tor itself is a small rocky outcrop, typical of Dartmoor's weathered granite landscape, and the approach across the moor is gentle and unobstructed.

The walk to the summit rewards with clear views across the moorland plateau and surrounding tors. The location sits well for exploring the central moor on foot, with direct access across open country. Like many Dartmoor peaks, its value lies less in dramatic height than in its place within the wider moorland experience and the quality of the walking it offers.
