Easdon Tor

Easdon Tor stands at 439 metres, a granite outcrop that rises with quiet purpose above the surrounding moorland. Its highest point is marked with a triangulation pillar, a landmark visible across the moor. Though less crowded than its neighbours Houndtor and Haytor, Easdon Tor commands good views over these popular tors and the open country beyond.
The tor sits within a landscape of distinctive high points. To the west lies Hameldown Beacon ridge, and to the northwest Cosdon Beacon rises on the horizon. A walk to Easdon Tor offers a sense of being in the heart of Dartmoor's granite country, away from the most frequented paths yet part of the connected high moorland.
