Bowerman's Nose

Bowerman's Nose is a striking granite tor that rises from the open moorland near Chagford, its most distinctive feature a natural rock formation that resembles a human profile when viewed from certain angles. Local legend attributes the formation to a hunter - Bowerman - who angered a witch and was turned to stone as punishment, a tale that speaks to the moor's ancient, untamed character.
