Sitting above the small stream called Calves Lake, Calveslake Tor is a short, squat pile on a gentle slope. It has a rugged kistvaen with a coverstone on the south-east side and an old letterbox described by Richard Elliott. The area is remote and often quiet, with the River Plym nearby, making crossings at Plym Ford or Plym Steps essential. Tinners' streaming is evident to the north, adding to its historical interest.
