Cairn with a cist near Langcombe Brook

This scheduled monument consists of a cairn, a mound of stones typical of Bronze Age burial sites, containing a cist or stone burial chamber at its heart. Such structures were built over several centuries in the second millennium BC and often held cremated remains or grave goods. The site sits within Dartmoor's landscape of ancient stones and earthworks, part of a much larger pattern of prehistoric settlement and ritual activity across the moor.

Today the site remains as it has for thousands of years, marked by its stone structure in the moorland south of Langcombe Brook.
