Hen Tor is a prominent granite outcrop on the side of Lee Moor, offering commanding views over the Plym valley. Its distinctive cone of weathered granite rises above the surrounding moorland, with extensive clitter spreading from its base. The area is rich in prehistoric remains, including hut circles and enclosures, and the tor is best approached from nearby Great Trowlesworthy Tor to avoid the fast-flowing River Plym.
