Beardown Tors stands on the high moorland between South Devil's Tor and Lydford Tor, in the area drained by the Cowsic River. The ground around it can be boggy, particularly the flatter terrain stretching across from South Devil's Tor, though the worst patches are avoidable. The tor sits within walking range of Conies Down Tor to the north, which overlooks the Cowsic valley and offers better views of the river's length.
