Tors & Landmarks

Longaford Tor

Devon

Longaford Tor is a small but distinctive granite outcrop set on the rolling plateau of central Dartmoor. At just over 500 metres, it commands clear views across the open moorland in all directions, making it a useful landmark on the high ground between more prominent peaks.

The tor sits in accessible terrain, surrounded by typical Dartmoor grasses and heather. The walk to it is straightforward moorland rambling, following the gentle contours of the plateau. It is a quiet spot, less visited than the major tors, and offers a real sense of the moor's scale and emptiness.
