Crow Tor

Devon

Crow Tor is a modest granite peak on the central moor, rising from heather and rough grass with the characteristic weathered rock formations typical of Dartmoor's higher ground. The tor itself is not dramatic, but its position on open moorland gives it presence and a sense of the moor's broad, rolling character.

The approach is across typical moorland terrain, which rewards walkers with wide views across the surrounding landscape. From the tor, the eye travels across to neighbouring peaks and ridges, and down to the valleys and settlements beyond the moor's edge. It is the kind of place that feels part of Dartmoor's quieter interior, good for understanding the scale and texture of the landscape.
