Brat Tor

Devon

Brat Tor rises on the western flank of Dartmoor as a modest granite peak, notable less for its own stature than for what crowns its summit. Widgery Cross, the tallest of Dartmoor's stone crosses, stands here in stark silhouette, a distinctive landmark visible across the moor. The tor itself offers a straightforward walk to high ground with open views across the surrounding plateau.

While neighbouring tors like Great Links Tor and Hare Tor command more dramatic presence, Brat Tor serves as a useful waypoint on the western moors and a destination for those drawn to Dartmoor's scattered crosses and high granite outcrops. The walk rewards with the moorland character the area is known for, windswept and honest.
