Stone hut circle 580m south west of Statts Bridge

This is a scheduled monument: the remains of a stone hut circle dating from the Bronze Age, when communities lived and herded across Dartmoor's high ground. The circular foundation of stacked stone marks where a domestic dwelling once stood, part of a wider pattern of settlement that shaped the moor's landscape thousands of years ago.
Today the site sits on open moorland, a modest but tangible link to ancient life on Dartmoor. Visitors walking the area will recognize it as one of many such circles scattered across the National Park, evidence of a time when the climate and vegetation supported more extensive habitation than the heather moorland we see now.
