Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1020001) describes a cairn on a gentle south-facing slope of Whitchurch Common, above the valley of the River Walkham. It is 6 metres across and up to 0.9 metres high, with large stones showing through the surface. It seems intact and to have escaped antiquarian investigation. It sits within an extensive coaxial field system that covers much of Whitchurch Common and the slopes of Cox Tor, parts of which have their own schedulings. It lies in the parish of Whitchurch, about 0.6 km north of Vixen Tor and 0.7 km south-west of Merrivale.
