Hut circles and field system below Combestone Tor

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1002649) describes two stone hut circles, an enclosure and a length of reave within an extensive coaxial field system on the northern slopes of Combestone Tor, overlooking the valley of the River Dart. The scheduling falls in two areas. It lies in the parish of Holne, about 1.9 km south-west of Yar Tor and 0.9 km south of Dartmeet.

The southern hut is a circular inside up to 6.5 metres across, in partly upright-faced walls up to 2 metres wide and 1 metre high, terraced into the slope with no clear entrance. The northern hut is up to 10 metres across inside, with partly faced upright or coursed rubble walls up to 1 metre high and a doorway marked by two upright jambs. It is built into an enclosure with some upright blocks in its walls. A further length of reave survives to the east. Other remains nearby, some scheduled and some not, are outside this scheduling.
