  • Period: Bronze Age

Sharpitor here is the tor above the River Meavy in Walkhampton parish, south-west of Leeden Tor; Dartmoor has several places with this name. On its north-east slope Historic England records a large unenclosed settlement of stone hut circles, most of them terraced into the hill and facing the valley of the River Meavy. The biggest monument has eleven huts, a boundary wall and a field system; others hold one to four huts, and two sit inside oval or circular enclosures.

A reave (an ancient boundary bank) runs through the south-east part of the group, with two huts, a round cairn and a shelter beside it. Further west a circular enclosure with a hut inside overlooks the Tamar valley.
