Popular Romances of the West of England: or, The Drolls, Traditions, and Superstitions of Old Cornwall
1865
Popular Romances of the West of England collects the drolls, traditions and superstitions of old Cornwall and the neighbouring country, gathered by Robert Hunt (1807-1887) and first published in 1865. It was popular enough to go through several editions.
Dartmoor and Devon turn up throughout, so the book belongs among the sources for the moor's folklore. The scan linked below is the 1908 edition from Chatto & Windus.
