Robert Hunt
Plymouth, Devon
Robert Hunt (1807-1887) was born in Devonport, Plymouth, and died in London. He was a mineralogist and antiquarian, an amateur poet and an early pioneer of photography.
His Popular Romances of the West of England, first published in 1865, collects the drolls, traditions and superstitions of the region and went through several editions.
