Widecombe-in-the-Moor
Beatrice Chase was the pen name of Olive Katharine Parr (1874-1955), a novelist and photographer who lived at Venton, near Widecombe-in-the-Moor, and wrote many books on Dartmoor.

Tavistock
Vicar of Tavistock and curate of Brent Tor from 1812 to 1857, husband of Anna Eliza Bray. His Dartmoor journals appear in her 1836 Tamar and Tavy book.
