This scheduled monument consists of two stone hut circles nestled within Raddick Plantation, forming part of an extensive Bronze Age settlement. The hut circles are typical of Dartmoor's prehistoric domestic landscape, where communities built substantial stone-founded roundhouses from around 1500 BCE onwards. The wider settlement of which these form an outlying element speaks to the scale and organization of ancient moorland life.
Today the site sits within the mixed woodland of the plantation, where the stone footings of the huts remain visible among the trees and undergrowth. Like many of Dartmoor's hut circles, these structures offer a tangible connection to the people who lived and worked on the moor in the Bronze Age, their placement reflecting both practical needs and knowledge of the landscape accumulated over generations.
