Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1017285) describes an agglomerated enclosed settlement on a relatively steep east-facing slope of Cosdon Hill, overlooking Shilley Pool. It has two enclosed areas, each bounded by a rubble bank wall, both irregular in shape and lynchetted in places. The eastern enclosure is the older and holds a stone hut circle, a bank of rubble 1.6 metres wide and 0.4 metres high round a circular space 5.1 metres across. It lies in the parish of South Tawton, about 1.4 km north-west of Shilstone Tor and 1.8 km west of Throwleigh.
