Hut circle settlement and enclosure above Fernworthy Reservoir

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1017990) describes an enclosure and four stone hut circles on a north-facing slope overlooking Fernworthy Reservoir. The enclosure is up to 120 metres long, north-east to south-west, and 60 metres wide, bounded by a bank of upright stones and rubble 1.8 metres wide and 0.7 metres high, double-faced in places. A second length of walling leads off its south-east side. The huts are banks round circular spaces of 16.6 to 73.86 square metres, averaging 42.76, with walls 0.65 to 1.45 metres high, averaging 1.1. Two have visible doorways, one has a bench, all are of upright-stone construction and one has a length of boundary wall leading from it. The surface of the forestry track through the monument is excluded, though the ground beneath is included. It lies in the parish of Dartmoor Forest, about 1.5 km south of Thornworthy Tor.
