Cairn cemetery near Wallabrook Bridge

This scheduled monument comprises a cemetery of cairns dating to the Bronze Age, scattered across moorland southwest of Wallabrook Bridge. The site consists of several burial cairns, typical of the funerary monuments that dot Dartmoor's high ground. These stone-built structures represent the ritual and burial practices of communities who inhabited or used the moor in prehistoric times.

Today the cairns remain as low stony mounds in the open moorland, part of the dense archaeological landscape that makes Dartmoor exceptional.
