This scheduled monument is a partially enclosed settlement of stone hut circles, likely dating to the Bronze Age when Dartmoor supported scattered communities of farmers and herders. The huts would have been domestic spaces, their stone foundations surviving where timber and turf superstructures have long since decayed. The partial enclosure suggests some form of boundary or protection, characteristic of organised settlement patterns across the moor during this period.
Today the site is a scatter of stone foundations on open moorland, rewarding those willing to search the rough ground south west of Hen Tor.
