Wigford Down sits in the south western corner of Dartmoor, just north of Shaugh Prior. It's a straightforward walk from the car parks around Cadover Bridge, taking about 15 minutes to reach the top. The summit is marked by a large cairn, and the views stretch in all directions, including Plymouth Sound, Cox Tor, Sheeps Tor, Lee Moor, Shell Top and the Trowlesworthy Tors. There are no military firing areas nearby, making it a peaceful spot to enjoy the landscape.
