This scheduled monument consists of two stone hut circles and a length of associated walling, forming an outlying part of a much larger prehistoric settlement. The structures date to the Bronze Age, when families built their homes across Dartmoor's high ground, often in small clusters or dispersed patterns. The walling would have enclosed or bounded different areas of activity around the huts.
Today the site appears as low stone ruins in the moorland, requiring some attention to read the ground properly. It sits 620 metres south east of Cuckoo Rock, in the open country that characterises much of central Dartmoor. The location reflects Bronze Age settlement patterns, when people lived and worked on what is now bare moor, suggesting a very different landscape of grazing and cultivation.
