Southernmost of four cairns

This cairn is one of four that make up a cairnfield on the western slope of White Hill, likely built during the Bronze Age when such burial and ceremonial monuments dotted Dartmoor's high ground. The cairns sit on open moorland that would have been worked and lived on for thousands of years, part of a wider pattern of prehistoric settlement and ritual activity across the moor.

Today the cairn sits in its moorland context much as it has for millennia.
