Old books call it Teign Head Bridge, over which a track leads to Teignhead Farm. The Devonshire Association never found it claimed as a boundary, and Burnard's Dartmoor Illustrated says it is now understood to be of modern construction. Historic England lists it, and the sources give no date for the structure. William Crossing gives the route to Cranmere by Metherall, Fernworthy and Teign Head Bridge.
The remote north-moor clappers further down the valley are the Wallabrook and Teign-e-ver clapper bridges.

This bridge is one of the crossings gathered in Dartmoor Bridges, a guide to the clapper bridges, packhorse bridges and road bridges of the moor and its edge.

Dartefacts is free to use, and nobody has to pay to look things up. If you want more, a yearly subscription adds 10-figure grid references, map zoom down to 1:25,000 and lists to tick off the places you have visited, and it helps keep the site going. We would encourage you to subscribe.
