Hut circle near Siward's or Nun's Cross

Historic England's scheduling record (list entry 1008648) describes a stone hut circle on the eastern edge of an unenclosed hut circle settlement, on a west-facing slope overlooking Newleycombe Lake. It is terraced into the hillside, with a stone and earth wall around a circular inner area 4 metres across, the wall 1.6 metres wide and up to 0.6 metres high. The doorway is a partly blocked gap in the wall, lined on its east side, facing south. The area has been heavily mined for tin, and earthworks from that work survive close by. It lies in the parish of Walkhampton, about 1.5 km north-east of Combeshead Tor.
