Hut circle near Higher Shilstone

This stone hut circle lies on open moorland northwest of Higher Shilstone, a landscape dotted with the traces of Bronze Age settlement. The circular foundation of stone suggests a dwelling from the second millennium BC, when Dartmoor supported a much larger population than in later centuries. These structures once anchored small farming communities across the high ground.
