Round cairn near Little Hound Tor

This round cairn sits on the exposed summit of Little Hound Tor, a typical example of Dartmoor's Bronze Age burial monuments. Built from stone heaped over a grave or graves, it has weathered thousands of years on the open moor, its form still clearly recognisable to anyone who walks up to it today.

The tor itself commands views across the central plateau, and the cairn is part of a wider landscape densely scattered with similar monuments.
