Lower Hartor

Lower Hartor is a granite peak of unrecorded height that sits on the southern heights of Dartmoor. Its name pairs it with the nearby and more prominent Higher Hartor, and together they mark a distinctive part of the landscape between Princetown and the open moor to the east. The tor itself is granite, weathered and solid, offering good views across the surrounding plateau.
The walking in this area is straightforward moorland, with tracks and paths crossing open ground. Lower Hartor makes a natural waypoint on longer walks across the southern moor, or a modest destination in its own right. The setting is typical high Dartmoor: wide, rolling, and quietly empty, with other tors visible across the distance.
